Punjab Police has reportedly arrested Malik Tahir Saeed, the husband of designer Maria B.
Punjab Police claims one of the servants of the designer was tested positive for the coronavirus. Instead of informing the authorities about their servant’s positive coronavirus test they sent the servant to the village, who reportedly reached Vehari by changing two buses.
Reportedly, Police say it is the criminal negligence of the family of Maria B not to inform the authorities and had their servant admitted to the hospital. Police claims despite being a coronavirus patient, the domestic servant of Maria B traveled by other passengers on the bus thus risking the lives of people and accelerating the spread of coronavirus in the area.
Authorities have reportedly claim to arrest the husband of Maria B for sheer negligence. Meanwhile, Maria B has uploaded her video on social media admonishing the Punjab government and provincial police for raiding her house and arresting her husband at midnight.
In her video message, she asked Prime Minister Imran Khan, about the kind of system running in Punjab.
She said that Police had already registered an FIR against her husband and that they did not even allow them to contact their lawyers before the arrest. Reportedly, the condition of servant worsened in the bus affecting other travelers too
She protested the harsh treatment by police and defended her family that they are not the culprits because they are also awaiting their coronavirus test results.
She expressed her ire over Policemen calling them ‘criminals’ during the raid. But the social media users have slammed Maria B for hiding her criminal negligence in the video and brazenly shaming the authorities for taking the right actions against them.
Social media users blasted Maria B for putting on the risk the lives of people from lower-income groups since they cannot afford the expensive tests and treatment of coronavirus.
